Huzzah!!

I learned magic loop!!!

I learned it out of necessity. I was tired of having to go out and buy a different circular every time I wanted to knit something in the round, so I sat down with the internet and a hat pattern and cast on. It took me two days to finish the hat and I can now say that I am totally comfortable with it and in fact, will be using it again and again.

I think this is going to aid my conversion of big projects to circular needles. I've always been wary of them (what if you get the wrong circumference? WHAT IF?) but now I see how to sidestep that problem.

It WAS a lot lighter on my arms than knitting flat, and I think that's why I was able to finish the hat in two days, instead of just giving up. I also didn't have anything fall OFF the needle, which happens quite frequently when I have my dpns filled from edge to edge with yarn. My cats like to pull the needles out and roll them across the floor. At first I thought it was because they liked the shiny needles, but now I'm pretty certain they're doing it to be bastards.

Oh, and yes, I did use acrylic yarn for this project. Caron simply soft. I broke TWO knitting barriers, and I just might do it again.

In fact, I just might go get a set of KnitPicks Options. Or at least add them to my Christmas list hint hint :)
